does any one know wat do u mean by top to bottom and bottom to top approach in SDLC..please help me with some good steps to follow
Re: regarding methodologies
Top to bottom is where you start with High Level ideas and use these to geenrate low level detail
Bottom to top is the opposite.
In SDLC/Dev - start with high level requirements/ break down into lower and lower (more detailed) requirements. Then start developing a framework, add small components/ then add the details. Hard to describe because it depends on the language/method used in your company.
Top Down - start with broad test ideas, then gradually drill down for more detail.
HL:Test Billing, Test Debt
ML:Test Bill Generateion, Bill print etc
LL:On Bill screen, test Item ID....etc
Bottom up, start with test criteria (smallest testable activities), then collate these into test cases etc.
SOrry, without details of aplication and development methodology - it is hard to be more specific.
