I need some help with this folks, my manager told that we will have a meeting soon, where we will discuss "which SOPs (Standard Operational Procedures) will be required for UAT testing, and any SOP approach changes that need to be made based on our decisions? " I will be the only tester present in the meeting.
I wanted to ask some questions regarding this meeting. Like i dont know what exactly these SOPs are, and who will prepare it? And how are they related with UAT? Do i need to ask them for SOPs, so that i can go through them before the meeting? Please tell me how should i prepare reg this issue. thankx in advance
SOP is exactly what they are. Imagine software does not exist, how would the group achieve its objectives ? SOP's are written by the people who do the work and the relevant managers. If an SOP is changed, then this will ripple through to a user requirement (and I assume User requirement document) and relevant functional specifications. Hence it will effect a change in any software used to support the group doing the work. If it does not occur you are in danger of delivering software that does not meet the user requirements.
You need to be kept in the loop for any updates to the SOP's / User Requirements. Its sounds like your organisation needs to adopt a regimented Change Management process if it is invisaged that changes to SOP's are very likely.
