Customer Support Query
I know this is a testing forum and not a Customer Support one, but as an experienced tester in a small start-up, I have been given the additional task of starting up the customer support function.
Anyone in the same predicament?
Can anyone point me to some useful sites?
Is there a Customer Support equivalent of QAForums our there?
Re: Customer Support Query
Before moving to testing full time I managed the Customer Support functions in the company I work for. I used to have a variety of URLs that I visited but I have only kept one:
Noel Bruton seems to concentrate mainly on larger organisations, and I note that you are in a small company, probably much like myself, but he is a good writer. You may find only some of his stuff relevant, depending on what your customer support function is to cover. He has done alot on Helpdesk, which was my major concern. He has some links on his website that you might find useful.
I've never come across a forum about customer support, but you never know.
Be careful that Customer Support does not take over your job. When I started at this company my job was supposed to be 50% Helpdesk/Customer Support and 50% Automated Testing. It turned out to be 95% Helpdesk and 30% testing! To get the concentration required for the testing we had to reorganise and re-define 5 people's jobs!
