I am new to this forum. I live in Silicon Valley and have MS degree with 2 yrs of industry experience. As market is tight for developers right now i am considering if QA would be a right option now.
how is the market for my experience as I will be entry level in QA but have development experience ?
Also wanted to know how is market in the Valley for specific tools like LoadRunner,WinRunner.
Re: qa carrer
In my experience, your chances are better right now if you've got some development background. The Valley area is terrible though. That's why people are leaving in droves. I moved out of that area and haven't looked back. But WinRunner and LoadRunner are still hot items and not just in Silicon Valley. That's pretty much the case everywhere because their probably the most widely used automated tool. Is QA something you want to get into just because the development area is tight? If so, you probably won't make a good QA person because you might jump back to development if *that* market turns around. I'd say the same thing to a QA person jumping on the development bandwagon when the QA market is tight.
