Which tool to use
Ok don't want to open a can of worms here.
I understand different tools, fit for purpose and price etc.
Using Rational Visual Test at the moment and people here are considering moving to something else.
In the past I have use Winrunner and found it really good.
Software we are testing.
Written in a inhouse language, but changing to a .net most likely c#
Someone else is actually making the decision for the software, but I want to point them in a good site which offers reviews and opinions on the different software.
If it was my personal choice I would go for Winrunner linked to Test director, but that is simply because I have used them both bofore and like them, also they seem to be industry standard and finally good for my CV ha ha..
Re: Which tool to use
Go up to the automated testing forum and do a search, you'll find all kinds of information on this process.
Tool selection is a process. If you're using visual test now, I'd stongly consider looking at Rational products. Robot and X-Tester(RobotJ) are solid tools. X-Tester supports .net and C#.
Yes, TestDirector is at least a generation ahead of TestManager if you are using those tools.
