    What doese best practises mean?

I read some job adveritising which wrote: best practises in description.
I understand its meaning, but not very detail.
Can anybody explain its exact meaning of this" Best Practises" for a SQA engineer?

Re: What doese best practises mean?

It's a set of processes and procedures that are put in place to help organize and expedite your work.

It can be ANYTHING, but what it should be is what works the best for your organization.

You'll hear a lot of people spouting off that term. They think they mean a whole reorg of everything they do, and it'll cost mega-bucks, but the reality is that not everything works for everyone. Even the RUP suggests that organizations adopt the processes that make sense to help them build better quality into their systems.

What works best, or what do you think will work best? That's Best Practices.

And one of the Best Practises for all is Post Implementation Reviews which should lead to improvements in processes based on the feedback from previous projects.

This doesn't always happen and even if it appears in your organisation's list of Best Practises, it doesn't mean it happens consistently across all areas. That gives a warm inner glow doesn't it?

    tracyd

It means nothing at all unless some one defines what Best Practice is. As Jean has pointed out it is a term bandied about by many orgs and people patting themselves on the back.

Its a term that is usually applied to a company as a whole (or hole..) where they benchmark company operations against competitors or similar companies and see how that stack up. I am very suspicious of any person, profession or company making such claims.
