Effective testing under Pressure
Sometimes it so happens that we get the software to be tested during the last minute and we have got no sufficient time to test and yet the software is to be tested properly. In this situation what sort of testing should we take up, whether detailed testing or general testing.......????
Any views, informations, links would be really helpful.
Thanx in advance,
Re: Effective testing under Pressure
It usually helps when you put the facts straight before your project manager. I suggest making estimates of the amount of test engineering efforts you expect to put into each cycle. Circulate these figures among the team leads and also ensure that management sees it.
This article should help. It's titled "Explaining it to them"
Despite this, if you are faced with situations where you don't have adequate time, use the risk-based testing approach to prioritize test case creation and execution.
Here's a link to James' article titled "Hieuristic Risk-based Testing"
