CD Installation Testing
My QE team is responsible for testing that the master cd's manufactured are ready for release to customer. We do this by performing a manual install from cd and executing a checklist. With 18 supported languages, 2 products & 3 supported platforms (AIX, Solaris, & Windows) this becomes quite a labour intensive task (130 cd's.) Anyone have suggestions on how to streamline the process or been in similiar situation?
Re: CD Installation Testing
You've got too many items in one factor (languages) for CATS or orthogonal arrays to work in your favour. Perhaps automation is the way to go? You probably wouldn't gain any time this round (as you'll need to write the scripts and maybe learn how to write them) but if your product is quite stable and will need testing again, it should save you time in the long run.
