I know the answer of the following question, but me and my manager disagreed about what is the best definition of the web testing and client testing, any help? How you define web testing and how you define client server testing?
You could define Web Testing to relating to browser based testing (of what ever kind). Web Testing could also be be called client testing as a simple web app is in fact comparable to a Client Server set up. In fact very simple web apps are like Host systems (IBM mainframe software architecture).
I guess to seperate the two, one could say Web Testing must involve a web server such as IIS, Apache or other. Client testing usually relates to testing the Client side of a clinet server application.
Why is there a need to define these seperately anyway ?
Instead of calling web testing and client testing, we used to call it as Web testing and Desktop/Lan version testing. Clients exists in each type of software whether web based or LAN based. Web testing primarily involves web servers and web clients while LAN testing involves servers and clients on intranet. In LAN testing, clinet software has to be installed on the workstation.
