Database testing are deep. Since you looking for automated testing tool, can I assume you are stress testing? If yes, probably these are the items you are looking for.
* Concurrent Connectivity
* Hardware stress testing like how many instances, cache, shared pool volumes and etc. This one require excellent skill in Performing and Tunning in Oracle architecture. SQL, Application, logging, buffering all these can be tuned if you know in and out of the Oracle Architecure.
* Maximum session your application can support etc ..
* RAID and Clustering known as Real Application Clustering in Oracle9I and Oracle Parallel Server in Oracle8i considerations.
Have you check WinRunner?
If you are not looking for Stress or Performance testing probably you are looking into test functionality in the database drivers, or your own indoor database drivers.
Also, database regression testing are important throughout the time since database drivers changes too often.
Please do another search on database testing, it should be another similar topic you may get more information from.

As E-Quality has pointed out automated tools are good for driving the software to pupolulate the database. Other Tools could be SilkTest and Silk Performer. These tools have database features in them. They are rather expensive and If you don't know alot about them I suggest you hire someone who does of find alternatives (alternatley put yourself on a steep learning curve).
In the old days we just use to set up batch runs written in Shell Scripts on a UNIX box run Oracle. All you had to do was analyse the transaction logs (find the DB guru to tell you what they mean)
