Re: QA Questions!
Questions two and three are broad enough that it would be hard to answer in any way that would be immediately helpful to you. There are different ways to verify a "test report" and part of that stems from finding out what you mean by a "test report". As far as background jobs and updating records in a database, the specific how's can differ depending on the nature of the database but the overall how is fairly simple: look in the database (via a query) and check the values of the updated data.
As far as your first question, however, a "Web interface" can be a type of "GUI Interface". GUI just means "Graphical User Interface" and most Web interfaces that I know of are graphical in nature. This is talking about the World Wide Web. An "Internet Interface" can, of course, be command-line driven, or CUI in nature, and even a Web page can be purely textual in nature if there are no elements on it other than text. Sometimes people relegate the term "GUI Interface" only to graphically based applications that run on operating systems like Windows, Macintosh, XWinm, etc., and then leave the term "Web Interface" to strictly apply to anything that is seen via a browser window. The fact is, however, that if it is a type of user interface and it is graphical in nature (to some extent) then it qualifies as a Graphical User Interface.
