Testing of already implemented projects with no documentation
We have to test some already implemented projects with no documentation(nothing but the project). These projects were just tested by the project team before implementation. Now it should undergo testing by the QA and that too at a short notice. Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance
Re: Testing of already implemented projects with no documentation
Some time back somebody had asked a similar question. He/She wanted to know how to test a product/project that is completely developed without any in between testing and there is no documentation in place.
What was discussed there, also applies to your query.
First of all break the project in to smaller units/modules based on functionality/flow of the system (You can get the help from the developers to break the system into smaller modules). Take up each module individually, understand its functionality from the developers/business analysts/end users. Try and build your test cases based on the info you get. Let the team you understood the functionality from review those test cases. And test that unit/module based on these test cases.
Make your test cases carefully, so that no one in future will face a problem testing this project due to lack of documentation.
I'll write programs to write programs, rather than writing programs.
