    starting off with testing tools

A great forum to learn and seek:
We have implemented PVCS as a tracker, version control and builder. Now i'm looking for testing tools for our various applications (not web based). Can any one recommend testing tools that preferably should have an integration with PVCS. Main tasks include testing functionality of VC applications. Suggestions highly appreciated.

It would be very unusual to have as your number one requirement that your test tool must be integrated with PVCS. I would suggest that this is a nice-to-have feature, not a must-have.

I haven't used PVCS in a long while, but the test tool I used back then was NOT integrated with PVCS. That fact did not cause any problems.

i dunno if any tools integrate with PVCS ... but i guess u can try to make a small utility that can place test scripts in the PVCS directory ....

well as for testing VC applications try to do some research on winrunner and visual test.

It's my understanding that Mercury Interactive's Test Director integrates with PVCS Tracker. We don't integrate the two in our shop here but use them separately. We also use Mercury Interactive's WinRunner (automated functional testing) and LoadRunner (load/performance testing). We also use PVCS Version Manager and Notify.
