    The V-Model

    Hi,

How many of out there still use the V-Model as a method for testing?

I still refer to it as there does not seem to be another industry method.

Has anybody seen or used any other methods?

I think the general view is that an iterative model will become the defacto standard once it is invented.

Does anyone have such a prototype model that they can give details on.

We still use the V-model, sort of.

We also use the Rational Unified Process on some projects which is an itterative model.

My company just decided to implement the V-model as the corporate standard.

I would be very interested to hear more about other peoples experience with it.

    Re: The V-Model

We use a variant from the V-model and Spiral model to create a model for our company. We use the checks-n-balance of the V-model while using the Spiral module for risk management and developing features and enhancements in a decreasing priority manner.

    Re: The V-Model

The V is one thing, the iterative is another. We are looking to combine the two.

The V-model: we rather use a W-model where the one part is requirements, analysis, design, code, build, install. The quality counterpart is requirements inspections, analysis inspections, design inspections, unit testing, integration testing, system tesitng and acceptance testing.

This model should be used for each incremental iteration in the project life cycle.

    Regards,
