Keeping in view of the topics that are covered by members, I want to discuss the issue of Software Processes which is an important part of Software Quality Managment.
If we see the title of website --- QAForums, then aspect of wholeness is present as quality is regarded in totality in modern organizations. One department called "Quality Assurance" department can not inhibit the true picture of quality, until each process, and activity is not properly operated and maintained.
So, the issue of software processes is very importnat. Here, I would like to be very open to share thier ideas wit reference to Process Improvment.
For example, how CMM can be inititaed? And, wat can be the first step in defining the processes, and wat r the bottle necks in start.
So, please guide me keeping in view of small organizational setup.
I wish all the best to all members in this forum and I hope that we can share a lot in this learning station.
This thread is more suited to the Process Improvement forum, so I'll hope the moderator moves it there.
I am embarking on an ambitious project myself to get my company to position itself for ISO or CMM certification in the future. I also need advice on how to get going, and have done some preliminary research into the CMM processes. It doesn't look terribly difficult, most of it is common sense if you've been in software development for any length of time.
The incentive for this company is that our customers will eventually demand such certification. It is *very* expensive to do it from scratch and in a rush, so I will be helping them get to CMM level 3 over a long period of time and we'll be ready for either ISO or CMM when that is demanded.
