    Software Quality Assurance

    Can someone please give me the accepted, standard, definition for SQA.

    There is not a "standard" definition.
    QAI does want to become and set the standards, so here's their definition from the glossary of the 2001 copyrighted version of the CSTE study guide.

    Quality Assurance (QA):
    The set of support activities (including facilitation, training, measurement and analysis) needed to provide adequate confidence that processes are established and continuously improved to produce products that meet specifications and are fit for use.

    Quality assurance is the planned and systematic set of activities that ensures that software processes and products conform to requirements, standards, and procedures.

    Processes include all of the activities involved in designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining software.

    Products include the software, associated data, its documentation, and all supporting and reporting paperwork.
