Guidance on Course
Im having 5yrs of manual testing experience with health and telecom domain.
Now want to go for course study interested in network router testing, security and comand line testing (linux, mainframe)
So want to know which course should i prefer??
I think load testing might be up your ally.
Since all applications are becoming more and more data intensive, and more and more servers are needed. Load testing becomes much more important. Gone are the days you can just X on the most expensive hardware you can buy. Now with cloud, it becomes very important to know how much each machine can handle and how they scale.
Now to why I think it fits your description. For load testing, you need a good amount of knowledge of network topology. Your coding experience does not have to be super high, but you do need to have a deep understanding of the data being sent so you can shape and mimick it in a load testing tool. You tend to need to deal with security and authentication when writing load tests (at least get around it). And you'll probably deal a lot with writing command line shell scripts for provisioning and maintaining your load test rig.
Thanks David, for your quick and valuable advice. I'll check for the Load Test course as u said i will be beneficial for me.
I'm continuously checking/discussion with people regarding course selection, getting different/new opinions.
Today my manager suggested me to do Cloud certification or else CCNA. So day by day it becoming tough decision for me.
