Functional Test Case Generator Tools
Could you please suggest me any open source or free trail Functional Test Case Generator Tools available in market. My Requirement is :
Ex: If I want to generate test cases login page, the tool should able to suggest or list out the possible test cases for the same?
Do we have any these kind of tools in market?
Thanks In Advance,
I've never heard of any such tools and would be curious if anything like this actually exists.
coming up with base test cases I can't think of one, unless you're doing some sort of domain driven design (DDD), then use the tools associated with the process/framework you're using for DDD. But those are more for unit and integration tests and meant for developers to ensure domain/business layer coverage. While more creative test cases you still have to do manually.
There are combinatoric case generators, like pair wise testing, and orthogonal pairs arrays. These are more for choosing subsets of combinations that provide you maximum coverage. Bach has a tool called all pairs, Test Tools - James Bach - Satisfice, Inc. You can find an explaination of the theory here, DevelopSense - Things can be different
I have seen these kind of tools mostly inside some corporate IT companies not a public product or so. Basically those tools are designed to branch out and cover the possibilities based on the Business Flow diagram the user inputs to the tool. Mostly these tools are customized based on the industry like Insurance, healthcare, etc. and to derive the test cases with applied business flow.
I have seen it really helped some of the teams where they want to write test cases of same type or related again and again. But I don't see any such tools outside of some companies nor no products to my knowledge.
Thank/Like to help others if my input helped you !!!
I am speaking for myself, not for my employer nor any one. Automation Ecstasy
Thanks for the information.
