Switch jobs. Easy or hard?
Initially, it took me 7 months of job search to jump from Technical Support to QA (different companies) which was tough without prior experience.
For example, I currently test enterprise software. But, if I want to do mobile testing or bank payment testing (another industry)...I feel like I'm missing the required technical skills.
I can self-study and get certifications. But, I want to have all-in-one skills to be able to switch to any QA job in the future. Advice? I would like to know if it was hard or easy for you to switch from QA to QA (another industry)?
Initial days you would feel some insecurity, since the guys you are going to work with have been already well versed in the field, though you have basic testing knowledge which is common to field across business can help you to grasp the business knowledge.
Well Hard or Easy part depends on the person's attitude
I have changed domains Health care/Life science/Banking still running hope soon will hop to some other domain.
Mm, easy enough, as has been stated you'll have the basic skill set already through through your testing knowledge, but it can take a little while to adjust to the requirements of a specific field. It really depends how adaptable you are. Studying on your own outside of work is always advantageous, even if you don't get a qualification for it.
My place in Berlin is hiring just now if you wanted to make some serious changes and haul *** to Germany!
