Suggestion for Testing tool for testing Linux based applications
I would like to know if we have any testing tool that can be used to perform Testing on the LINUX based applications or applications that are developed for Fault Management Systems on Linux.
i'm not familair with linux gui testing. But if it's a command line program, what you'll probably want to do is use a unit testing framework on a scripting language like Python, Ruby, etc...
Within the unit test, you'll launch a shell process in a separate thread, then in your automated test, pipe the output buffer into a tokenizer & lexxer to parse the output, and do your valiations on that. And to send inputs, you do the same thing, pipe the input characters into the shell processes' input stream.
Use Selenium for testing in Linux. The tool is OS Independent tool so you can use in any OS of you choice
Are you working only with a web interface? I'm not sure if Selenium will work if you are connecting to Linux windows that are not on the web.
