This is more of a VBSCript question than QTP/UFT so I put it in the general section of this forum.
When I am opening the workbook a message saying "File conversion in progress" flashes for about 1/10 of a second. I'd rather not have the client keep seeing this.
I'm working with .vbs file. Not QTP.
Is there a way to open the file without having to see the message?
Is there a way to convert the file one time and save it?
I have Excel 2003 on the machine.
I think you have to upgrade to Excel 2007 in order not to see that message
Patience is like bread I say.... I ran out of that yesterday.
Yep. Working with mismatched versions of excel basically and 03 has to do a conversion if trying to open an 07+. To prevent it on the 07+ machine that originally creates the file you'd have to use the save-as option to save in the older format. file conversion in progress - what does this mean - ExcelBanter
Or ya know upgrading your 11+ year old program to a more recent one.

I"m stuck with Excel 2003 for a while. I wonder if I can save the .xlxs (2007) workbook as 2003? I don't need any special features from the newer version.
Yeah that's what I mentioned. Should be able to do a save as an 03 .xls file on the 07 machine.
I will try doing the save as the older version.
