test web service with Selenium or Visual studio
we need to test web services with no UI. Hence call the service and pass XML data, and check the response. Or, call directly a method, and check the response.
SoapUI can do that, but we work with Selenium and Visual studio as our testing tools.
I'll be glad for tips \ guidance \ example how to apply web service testing with Selenium or Visual Studio.
That's not something you would do with Selenium. You would either put in a command line call to SoapUI in your tests, use Visual Studio's tools How to: Create a Web Service Test, or just write your own code to send the request and validate the return.
My guess is you're using VS because your devs are using VS. Your developers are using some sort of XML handler library to format/output the requests. You can use that same library to do the reverse.
