Who makes the best Web Service tool on the market?
Looking for some advice…(I know it’s cheap) anyway, my office will be doing some testing on Web Services (SOAP, WCF, ASMX) and I’d like to know what people think about the tools available on the market. We currently use some IBM/Rational tools and HP tools. Does IBM/Rational have a tool for testing Web Services? HP? How about other tools? Which is the best? Please let me know what you think, so we can make contact and start doing an evaluation. Thanks for your time.

If you are sending requests and receiving replies you could also probably do OK with VBSCript or some other language that calls the API. Maybe you don't even need a test tool.
Check out the free version of SoapUI. It's the most popular one I'm aware of, not sure about "best".
I personally come from the camp, just use the unit testing framework your devs are using. If it's not easy to write a test using code, than it's a pretty horrible design for a web service.
Webservices are designed to be consumed by developers. I think writing tests using the same programming language as your devs, is a good way to exercise how easy to consume your webservices are.
If you're still considering Web Service testing tools, here’s a third-party review from InfoWorld: Clean up your SOAP-based Web services | Developer World - InfoWorld
