New Job as SQA
Hello Good Day same as tester8. i will started as QA position.. this will be my first time in this position..
Can you give me some tips in this position?
Are they using automation tools in your department?
Is there a team?
Have you been in software development before?
Testing being at the tail end will usually get the blame for things going wrong.
My advice is to communicate clearly and communicate often. There will be many times people will ask you, Is it ready to release? Don't be tempted to give a simple yes or no answer. Make sure the project manager is aware of the actual caveats. "I've ran through X test cases, which cover areas A,B, & C. Performed exploratory testing around area Y. I think functionality around this area is safe, that area was not covered, however the developers do not believe that area is at risk."
I would say the times when I have been in trouble were all related to project managers and decision makers pressured me into a simple yes or no answer and not understood the actual state of the software.
yes they are automated..
iam fresh graduate. and this will be my first job.
me and my i.t manager as SQA partner.
thank you for sharing your advice..
this will be helpful for me as SQA.
Have they selected a test tool yet?
If not I would find out everything that you need to test.
I would figure out which tools can communicate best with your apps.
Sometimes a tool nobody else could use may work for your situation.
There is more to QA than just test tools. But I would start bringing in companies early on.
basically, on monday will test the sample program.
and my manager tell me find out what will be the problem in that program.
