Anyone with SAP BI Testing exp
Hi Guys, am looking for someone who worked on SAP BI Testing. I am new to SAP and starting Testing on BI reports. Dont know, where to start from. Any help from the experts ?
I'm not an expert. I worked with WinRunner and QTP for a while on SAP. I was wondering if you looking for assistance with the Business part of a particular module or using QTP/UFT of something else to do automation.
actually, this is a legacy system project. They are upgrading BI to new version 4.0 and moving all the reports from old version. There are some thousands of reports to move. What testing i have to perform as a QA tester?
Start with your test plan.
What's your scope of testing? (Just the reports? Or full process chains, DSOs, infocubes, plus reports?)
What are the potential complications (risk areas) that you need to focus on and prioritise? (Integration points with external systems, transformations / key figure calculations, conversions, etc)
Group the reports into like sets so you can determine your test data requirements
Prioritise the reports - risk rate them with the business users so you focus on the critical ones first (1000s of reports is a lot, focus on a couple of Priority 1 reports from each data set grouping so you can identify critical bugs in each group earlier)
Where will you be getting test data from? Handcrafted into source systems and then transferred to BI? Real / live data? Imported directly into BI cubes? How many different sources of data do you have, and do you have sufficient data to cover your priority reports?
What's the delivery schedule (both to you from development, and from you to deployment), and how does your test plan stack up? Do you need to work with Dev to prioritise delivery of key reports first based on the above? Do you have enough time in your schedule to test everything that you want to test?
