Learn script language or stick with C#?
Just switched from developing to testing and I have a question about scripting language. It seems like scripting language is used a lot by testers and I wonder if there is any special reason for that (except for the obvious reasons with no compilation, quick etc)? Is there anything that is a lot easier to do with scripting language that I could not do with for example C#?
It's a pretty general question but I just wonder if there would be some situation where something would not be possible (or just take to much time) with C# then to do with for example python. My goal is also work toward automation testing and maybe script languages are better for that? But right now it's just small tasks, like creating testing data etc.
I have tried to google it and I get a lot of general threads about advantages/disadvantages but nothing specific for software testing.
