anyone follow this story?
It seems that an error in some newly installed trading software cause Knight Capital to lose $440m in 45 minutes through bogus trades being sent into the market. The news led to an 80% fall in their share price over 2 days.
I don't know more than what I read in the papers, but I'd be interested if anyone knows more.
It looks like one for the "why you need software testing" presentations.
Everywhere's within walking distance if you have enough time.
I heard about it last night after I got home from work. I have some questions out to people if they have more information.
It will be interesting - and yeah - I think I have another example to not be like.
