First of all sorry if I have posted this in the wrong forum but I think this General forum is the best for this request.
We have been using Repro from Repro Software but it now seems as the company does not exist any more. So I have been looking around for a good replacement and have google'ed for hours without luck. Most testing tools seems to be for webservices and alike.
Can anyone help me by recommending a good alternative to Repro?
It is an application that we use at our customer sites if we have trouble reproducing errors.
You know it can be hard to reproduce errors that only occurs once in a while. And never in a development environment of course So we have had good luck using this application at the customer site to monitor or instrument our application while the customer is working with it. When the error occurs for the customer he then stops the recorder and saves a repro-file. He then contact us and send the repro-file to us via email.
I have attached a picture to show what the Repro Analyser looks like when we investigate a repro-file.
We can then replay the recorded repro-file and examine what was going on up to the error occurred. It can instrument a lot of things like what IO from diskaccess, internet, the registry database and alike. Please have a look at this Repro Download Page from SoftPedia. It can explain a bit more of what it is.
It is not an automation test tool to reproduce what a user has done in a script based manner. It's merely a reporting/video recorder tool.
Hope it makes sense what I am talking about
