I am looking for reference material on Test Case Cost for software testing... telecommunications. Any help is appreciated!
The IT QA provides services in quality and performance engineering on a short-term and/or long-term basis for application teams emphasizing: Functional testing is complementary to—but quite different from—unit testing. Simply put, unit tests indicate whether the code is doing things right; functional tests tell whether the completed application is working correctly and providing the proper functionality. Unit tests are written from the code developer’s perspective, while functional tests are written from the end user’s and business-process perspective.

I am doing actual research on Test Case Cost. There is not a standard that I am aware of and it can be calculated differently if using labor costs or mot. Just curious if anyone can providea a base line.
You might try browsing/searching the websites of vendors in that space. Often they have whitepapers which try to show how much you can save by using their solution. And sometimes these papers can give you a taste of the original cost.
Remember that their goal is to sell products/services, so take their work with a grain of salt.
Not plugging a product... but you may want to look at Tricentis Tosca Test Suite information. They have a Test Case Design tool/functionality in their suite and they do make general statements about the time/cost savings of their tool.
I don't know of any specific numbers for them, but if you dig a little you might find it. Just be sure to share it back here with us, it would be good information to have.
