CRM application needs testing
I am a developer who doesn't know that much about testing.
I have helped create a web based CRM application that has been developed in PHP/MySQL.
There could be up to 50 concurrent users at any give time.
The application was developed using an agile methodology, and has no detailed
I have done my best to write some user stories/acceptance tests that cover the functionality that I think needs testing, but I am worried they are not thorough enough.
My initial plan was to sit down several of the the people who will be using the system at the same time and have them execute the user stories simultaneously to find bugs. However, I have been told I canít use up peoples time like this.
However, I have been told I can hire one tester for 4 weeks possibly longer to help with the testing required. Does anyone have any suggestions for a better plan than the one I thought of?
Also, what kind of software tools should I be using? We have a bug tracking system already, but is there anything else I need? E.g. something to ensure the system can cope with 50 concurrent users.
Any input much appreciated,

Sounds like you need some load testing. If you can't get a load testing tool but can get a hold of many client machines you could create some scripts using Firefox and Selenium and execute them at the same time to see if you encounter any issues and also monitor resource usage on the application server.
If the company already has a load testing tool then just create some scripts on that and create a workload to simulate the daily peak usage.
