I decided to do some reading. Picked up a nice book. Second chapter, the author wants me to refer to IEEE 1990 to understand Software Engineering.

*sigh* where do I get a copy of IEEE 1990. Is this something I can get for free? Is the author providing this as a supplemental reading?

Sometimes I really wonder on why authors give references to other books, articles?

I can understand if the author gives references at the end of the chapter/book, however in the middle of the chapter?

Is it fair??
