    Re: Disk subsystem testing

    Hello,

    You have posted this same question three times - twice here and once in another forum. I deleted the one in the General forum.
    Here is the cross-posting/posting-multiples facial expression scale:

    Once = happy face.
    Twice = frowning face.
    Thrice = crabby face.
    <Four through Ten are just too menacing to list here>

    When you complete that assignment, please do post (in one place and one time) a more detailed and articulated question.

    Thank you!

    Good advice from the now-deleted cross-post:
    <font color="blue">2 - The way to get the best out of the forum is to do some work for yourself first, then ask the question. So
    a)what types of testing have you considered, which are you going for and why did you make that choice
    b)what tests have you already come up with?

    That way we will not just be doing your work. (I am perhaps being a Monday morning grump so sorry for that) </font>

    Thank you for cleaning up. I am not certain you have provided enough detail to get any relevant or specific help.

    Disk systems are very complex. At the general level of you question, one does not know the scope of what you are tasked with.

    Some aspects/scoping - which ones apply?
    Micro-controller?
    Electro-mechanical?
    Disk as hardware and manufacturer testing?
    O/S and/or application interface-specific?
    File Format?
    Environmental?

    ??
    Please be very specific about what you seek and supply some of your own ideas.

    Thank you
