Please be aware as you embark on a career in QA that the terminology in your domain or sector of knowledge is not a global use item. Looking at your example for FTA, there are 50+ immediate examples of what FTA stands for. I have used 5 or more of those at one time or another in my career, and each not having any connection to the previous use other than the acronyms.
Fully explaining the information you are seeking (and this translates into documentation, defect reporting, and test case creation) will help in the transferring and conversing in ideas and thoughts with others easier.
