Re: What are the levels of Testing?

There are basically four levels of testing

1> Unit Testing: Usually involves the developer. The tester tests the code module or unit with the help of stubs and drivers.
2> Integration Testing: Testing the interactions between different interfaces of a system.
3> System Testing: Testing the whole system. This involves testing the functional requirements as well as non functional requirements such as performance and load testing.
4> User Acceptance Testing: Carried out by the customer or the user of the system. It involves checking if the system developed is acceptable.

Hopes this is useful.

In your organization, maybe. Not in mine. Where is performance testing? Or deployment testing?

Be careful about stating absolutes.

Thanks for advice.
But Performance testing is covered in system testing
and I used the word 'Basically' to mean that in all most all the organizations, these four levels are always present and there may be some more in addition to these depending on the organization.

Re: What are the levels of Testing?

I think what Nitin is asking is what are the levels of positions for testers. Like Test Tech, Test Specialist, and Test Analyst. But as most of us are aware there is no fixed titling for QA. It is all relative to the company in which we work.
