What is the standard skill set required to become a pure functional tester?
i.e.: what technical computer skills?
What do you mean by a "pure functional tester"?
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work" --Thomas Edison
When I say pure functional tester I mean someone how only tests the functionality of an application. No coding required. Does such a thing exist in this day and age?
This sounds like you are talking about a manual tester - someone who tests and does not develop or use automation to test.
A manual tester would still do more than functional testing, they would or could be involved in many other activities that testers do.
If that is what you mean then yes there are many of these types of tester around. And as for most jobs the more computer skills you have the better.
Thanks for the help!
