Well, It really depends upon the type of report and the target audiences.
If its management you will have to put in accurate data along with graphical representations, supported by small descriptions.
Though the general characteristics of a report, i.e. clarity and supported by accurate statistics must be there.

Manivannan! I guess you problem concerned with looking for a methodology for testing a reporting framework, say like crystal reports. But you got to help us first with more information if you seek any from our end!!
