    QA tools

    I am an on-the job trainee and i'm in the QA side. My boss asks me to search for good quality assurance tools. what would you guys suggest? thanx

    QA is a vast world. Try to narrow down your scope to functions that you want the tool to do and then I think you will find more useful tools.

    For example if you take Rational Suite of products, you have almost everything you need. Like a version control tracker, defect log trackers and many other.

    Try to be clear what you want done when you say QA many companies mix it with QC.

    okay...it's something to do with bug tracking...actually im new here and my boss wants me to search for "tools" wheter issue tracker, bug tracker...etc...

    we are using c#, so what do you think are some tools that I can recommend to my boss?

    Hi there, We use FogBugz and it's quite useful - in fact we're about to cross the 5000 so it's certainly not shelfware. There are some limitations to the filtering in the UI (but you could run your own queries on the SQL if you needed to). It is a bums on seats licensing but not too extravagant at "$129 per user or less..."

    I don't think the development environment really impacts on the choice of tracker...

    Maybe try looking in the defect tracking instead of functional testing forum?
