    UAT : ?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">1) Whatever the Manager tells them to do. In some shops, they might be working on different project. In other shops, they might be helping to ensure that the Requirements are testable. In still other shops, the test team may
    ot have been hired yet.

    2) Since UAT = User Acceptance Testing, often it's the Users who perform the task.

    Krishna,

It looks like you and Satish have a lot in common. Is a discussion in order?

Krishna - we are once again playing the acronym game.

What do you mean by CIT and SIT?

    Re: few basic questions

The processes and procedures set up at the company where you are working guide and define who does what when. There are ideals that many of use prefer and recommend. However before I make any recommendations, Like Darrel I would like to know what you mean by SIT and CIT.

    NAWork.
Good guess, but you are propagating posts to no purpose. Let krishna provide his definitions instead of us putting words in his mouth.

To UAT, not only should users perform or execute the tests, they should also participate in or even control the planning and test case defining process leading up to UAT.
They need to do enough to be comfortable signing their acceptance of the solution. You can't reasonably define for them what will be acceptable to them.
    Resistance is futile.

    Re: few basic questions

    Hi bkoenig,

CIT stands for Component Integration Testing and
SIT stands for System Integration testing
UAT stands for User Acceptance testing

    My point is that:
As a Testing Engineer are you expected to do UAT (just by executing some testcases before release to make sure that, the basic operations are going well or not).

Thanks for all who have spent time in replying!!!!!
    Thanks & Regards
    Krishna
