    GUI And Database Testing

    Hi All,

I know how to do back-end testing in WinRunner basically for testing the database we need to connect to the database using Microsoft ODBC and with SQL queries we can manipulate and verify the data in the database.

My question is how to test data in the database with the GUI(Front-end testing)?
That is how to create SQL statements to verify whether we extract correct data from tables to verify output on the browser page?

    Thanks for your help!!

    Re: GUI And Database Testing

What we do is use a static sandbox in which to create data entries, and test in a non-operational environment. We know what the report should say, so we do a retieve and compare to see that the data we expected is what we get.
