dynamic black box -white box testing
what is the difference b/w dynamic white box testing and dynamic black box testing both of them seems to have similair technique and approaches other than u have the knowledge of code in case of white box testing
Re: dynamic black box -white box testing
There are big differencies in technique and objectives between those two.
Black Box testing is usually conformance-based or fault-directed based with regard to requirements, for instance at system test level. The purpose at lower level might be the same but the foundation is usually interfaces and design specifications.
The purpose of white box tests are not the same! These kind of tests can only prove that the code does what it does, which is not necessarily what it is intended to do. Nor can it show the absense of functionality.
The objective with white box tests is usually to gain some kind of code coverage measurement.
My personal opion is that white box tests only should be considered as a complement to black box when test results are as expected (black box tests that is), and the coverage analysis shows that there are portions of the code that should be covered.
Best regards Björn
