    Re: java application testing

If you are tasked with blackbox/functional testing, then java will have very little to do with how you proceed. In other words, the concepts of testing generally apply regardless of what an app was developed in. Are there some java-specific issues you feel do not fall under this conceptual umbrella?

    Re: java application testing

I have been testing Java client server applications for a few years now. If you can provide some more details of the task you have been given I may be able to help.

    Re: java application testing

Ankan, you are not specific about what you plan to test. If you are unit testing then JUnit is the tool of choice (of one of the derivatives of that platform). If you are system testing, then the question is if your software is compliant so that you can use one of the standard testing tools or if you are doing something that doesn't follow MFC standards. Without that sort of info it is difficult to provide suggestions.

    Re: java application testing

Ankan, if you want to educate yourself on major java-based applications issues you may want to check out: www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads

You will find all kinds of good information such as Websphere documentation and so on, and you can follow other links to information sites, perhaps even subscribe to IBM mailing lists. Since your questions are general, rather than specific, you are more likely to narrow down your issues using a broad spectrum research approach first.
