Difference between TestCase and Test Procedure?
Whatz the difference between Testcase and TestProcedure?
According to my understanding testcase is a document which determines that a particular feature in a given system is working correctly or not.
TestCases can have no. of subtestcase, those are test procedure.
Correct if i'm wrong.
Re: Difference between TestCase and Test Procedure?
In its simplest terms, a Test Case is the set of things to do in order to execute one specific test item. A Test Procedure is a collection of one or more Test Cases into a logical whole, providing a sequence of acttions for the tester to perform in order to validate the included test cases.
For instance, to test a login form you might develop test cases for invalid login_name, valid login_name but invalid password, valid login_name and valid password, etc.... You could then collect those test cases into a Test Procedure document which might reorganize them and possbile combine cases where it makes sense, hopefully providing the most effiecient way to execute all the member test cases.
