DB traces & CLI traces testing.
what is meant by "DB traces testing" & "CLI traces (in database) testing" ?
How can we do the above testing?
I would appreciate Any ideas or thoughts on the above, Plz let me know in detail.
(PS:- I would also like to know the basic concepts of DB traces & CLI in database, If any body could let me know about it or any documents about the same?).
Re: DB traces & CLI traces testing.
You should ask your DBA about this matter. It's too complicated to explain it, since it depends on what you want to do. But basically, DB tracing is for each operation, there's usually a stored procedure of series of SQL calls that are made. You need to make sure that correct calls are made in the proper order.
CLI is the database interface layer that Oracle uses. I don't know anybody else that uses it. It's similar to ODBC, or JDBC.
If this is an interview related question, and I was in your shoes with your technical skillset, I'd tell them that I don't know for certain what it is. Often, it'll be followed up the series of SQL statement calls, and other database specific questions. Even down to what information do you need to know to make a CLI connection.
