Earlier our application was using SQL Server/MSDE as backend. Now the new release has been made on Oracle. I want to ask, what is difference between functionality testing an application on SQL and on Oracle.
Thanks in advance.

Unless some functionality has changed on the front end, you should not have to modify your Black Box tests at all. As far as testing from the front end is concerned, a database is a database is a database...
In your case, I would think stress and performance test is the most feasible. (I assume your frontend - apps are compatible with any databases) Second, you have to test how Oracle handle transaction control, compatibility between tablespace (does SQL Server has this concept?), connection pooling, record locking (many different levels here), security etc ..
How many ways can I break your code
