How to create Test cases for webservice for a hotel booking application
I am facing an issue on creating Test cases for webservices
In the application different modules like definition, pricing and inventory are for hotels. Webservice is for the availability and booking of hotels based on the setup made in the above modules.
These modules have interrelation and based on the selection of one module field other modules will change.
Availability is based on different checks made in there three modules. Each module will have more than 60 fields and all the fields have impact on the availability.
So normal Test case methods like , descriptive, checklist etc are not possible here. Can any one suggest a good idea in creating TC for this scenario.. Thanks in advance
I dont think writing test cases in a generic way is a good idea having steps and expected.
Instead, a better way could be just drive it through excel - write the fields and expected result eg.,selecting a field in module1 out of 60 fields=>some option of module2 is enabled.
General good practice is to have well defined preconditions.
Some go further to link the preconditions to the related test cases.
