Do testing on a page Design , spellings, consistency, standards and then go another page do same testing , check the connects between first page and this like check all pages .
Then check module wise all testing techniques. Do testing level wise.

Below links is useful how to check the website

    Re: Manual Testing ?

There are various aspects that you can test-
UI (spellings, alignment of elements), DB (data getting saved & retrieved), navigation between pages to name few.

If you see the website http://www.espncricinfo.com, page is divided into various parts. You can concentrate on one part at a time and test it.

You can test many things with that website.

Search engine. Putting in special characters, numbers, another language, max length, put nothing and click search, etc.

    Sign In area.

Images. See if it support different formats .jpg, .gif, flash, etc.

Web browsers. Firefox, I.E different versions, Chrome, Safari, etc.

Moving those boxes around to see if it crash, etc.

Other people here have also suggested good ideas

    Re: Manual Testing ?

When you are doing functional testing with automation testing, do your stakeholders look for both to prove a confidence level? If so do have a % for both like 50/50 or 70/30? What are some reccomendations?

Stakeholders look for 100% test coverage all the times, automation is a part of functional testing if you are covering some of the functional tests using automated scripts.
