Is it necessary that every Test case is being made by using test case technique ? Such as I m using BVA,ECP,EG,Compatibilty testing,Decision table ,positive and negative test case techniues but sometimes unable to select which technique to use in some reqt such as OK button functionality etc

When writing test cases for functional requirements its considered a good practice to adopt some test case design approach.
It does not mean that you should confine yourself to a particular method but should employ a mix of the lot that you can possible think of and which are applicable also.
Recently we had an experience in which we were asked to follow the TMap approach. Our clients were using both Algorithmic as well as Flow and Branch Coverage techniques.
It was quite interesting to see their approach since when it came to coverage they were bang on target.
