A new field (dropdown) which displays the different database environments, is added. My application is in 5 different eg. UAT, QA, Env1, Env2, Env3.
I can search the employeein the above 5 environments by selected them from the dropdown.
Search can be done by selecting multiple environments.
New Creation & Modification can be in only default environment i.e. QA
I have considered few cases, please add if I am missing any.
1> search in single environment with valid id
2> search in single environment with invalid id
3> search in multiple environment with valid id
4> search in multiple environment with in valid id
5>search in multiple environment with 1 valid id and another invalid id.( valid id details should be displayed-expected)
6> Modify an employee of QA env-Should Allow
7> Modify an employee of environment other than QA-Should NOT Allow
8> Create new employee record in QA env-Should Allow
9> Create new employee record in environment other than QA-Should NOT Allow
10> Search Employee details in an environment which is currently down(should give proper error message-expected result).
Anything else i can check for.
Note:- This is not an interview question.
Off the top of my head, I thought of blank Employee ID + 1 or more environments from the drop down. (Then do the flip & put in an Employee ID but don't choose an environment.)
I assume something either prevents the search until required fields are populated? Or the appropriate message would be displayed?
Also, depending on how strict you are about UI behavior, just the general functionality of the drop down. Does it work w/a mouse click? <Alt+down Arrow> to open the drop down so you can then arrow through it? What if you type the first letter (like Q for QA), will it populate the field w/that value?
