i want to learn to write testcases. i would like to know if there are any websites which have like a question and answer pattern for test cases. lets say simple examples like write a test case on a atm transaction. i want to write my own and tally them with the answers. is there any websites like that?.
Better than simply playing around with a web site like the one which hosts Testometer? Certainly. Here are a few:
- Take college courses
- Read books
- Read websites, such as this one
- Read blogs
- Work with a Mentor
- Volunteer and test on an open source project
Getting back to the original question of an ATM transaction, one way to think about writing test cases is to think about the activities that one might perform at an ATM.
A simple flow:
Receive card at end of transactions
Now, to start building up test cases (without formal documentation), think about alternate paths to the above. For example, entering in an invalid PIN...or trying to withdraw more funds than are available. One thing to think about is what assumptions you are making as you identify these scenarios. Those assumptions could play into additional scenarios/test cases.
The possibilities are endless.
