Test Environ Support be Combined with Prod?
My company, like many, are looking to cut costs in IT and at the moment is considering combining Test Environment support teams with Production support teams. One concern I have is Production will always be given priority and the Test Environments (albeit Integration, System or UAT) will suffer for it.
Is that a valid concern? Should they be combined? Should they stay separated like I believe they should?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
Re: Test Environ Support be Combined with Prod?
Well if its a financial decision is it really going to matter whether the validity is there? I've seen companies make the financial decision, and yes it blows up in their faces, but on the bottom line where it counts they say it shows success and live with the fall out.
Internal systems will usually suffer in situations like this, but you can either learn to live with it, work with it or get out if you think it will adversely affect you.
Nothing learns better than experience.
